RIPTA Electric Busses Rhode Island is taking important steps towards reducing emissions from the transportation sector – including the acquisition of electric buses for the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority. Autonomous Shuttle Pilot Project The Little Roady Pilot Project brings the first self-driving shuttles to Rhode Island. The fleet of electric vehicles offers rides along a fixed route in the Woonasquatucket River Corridor of Providence, expanding transit in our neighborhoods. Resilient Rhody An actionable vision for addressing the impacts of climate change in Rhode Island. Rhode Island Urban Forests for Climate & Health Initiative This initiative originated from the Resilient Rhody strategy and will create a suite of tools that Rhode Island municipalities can use to help identify planting locations that maximize public health and climate mitigation potential. Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) is a market-based cap and trade program among nine New England and Mid-Atlantic states to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide from the power sector. Implications of Climate Change for RI Wastewater Collection & Treatment Infrastructure The study includes recommendations to help mitigate risk of flooding, storm surge and other severe weather impacts across Rhode Island's 19 major wastewater treatment facilities. Climate Change and Your Health: A Guide for Rhode Islanders The Rhode Island Department of Health Climate Change Program created “Climate Change and Your Health: A Guide for Rhode Islanders” to provide information about how climate change now and in the future will affect human health, and what individuals and communities can do to reduce their vulnerability.
