RIEC4 Sharing Session #7: Land Use

Date:

Natural vegetation can absorb the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide, resulting in lowering Rhode Island’s overall emissions. How we use our land can also help adapt to a changing climate and build community resilience.

In Sharing Session #7, attendees will hear an update on what’s happened with land use since the 2016 Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Plan and will review recommendations from recent key studies.

Attendees will then have an opportunity to discuss actions related to land use that Rhode Island must prioritize over the next few years in order to get on the path to meet the 2021 Act on Climate’s 2030 emissions reduction mandate. These discussions will directly inform the 2022 Update to the 2016 Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Plan.

The EC4 will host Sharing Session #7 on three dates; all dates will cover the same material. Attendees are welcome to join on one or more dates.

• Wednesday, July 13th from noon-1:00pm

• Thursday, July 14th from 1:00-2:00pm

• Thursday, July 14th from 6:00-7:00pm
